Carey London’s yard in Frogmore.
Electric gate, CCTV, yard lighting and power for a busy yard near Park Street, installed and maintained by SEG.

Carey London Limited runs a busy yard at Frogmore, near Park Street, a few minutes from our office in Chiswell Green. Lorries, forklifts and telehandlers are in and out all day, and the yard holds a lot of valuable equipment. We installed the electric vehicle gate, the CCTV, the yard lighting and the power, and we’ve looked after them since.
What we installed
- Electric vehicle gate with a keypad entry panel, so drivers can be let in for deliveries and staff can come and go.
- CCTV, including a PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) camera on the corner of the building covering the yard.
- Yard lighting: LED floodlights on T-bar columns, so the yard can be worked safely through winter afternoons.
- Power to the building and the yard.

Since then
- September 2024: three more 200W floodlights on a T-bar, fed by a new armoured (SWA) cable, positioned where the yard manager wanted them.
- February 2025: a call-out to find a fault on the external lighting.
- April 2025: the annual service on the electric gate. Gates in a working yard take a beating, and a service catches worn parts before the gate stops.
- January 2026: work on the Paxton access system.
- March 2026: a call-out to a fault on the vehicle gate.

EV charging at their Baldock depot
In September 2026 we installed a dual EV charging post at Carey London’s depot near Baldock: two Myenergi Zappi chargers fed from the existing distribution board through a spare duct, running on single-phase now and ready for three-phase later. Read the Baldock EV project.
Yards, depots and industrial sites
A yard needs the same things wherever it is: a gate that works every time, cameras that see at night, lighting that keeps forklifts and pedestrians safe, and someone to call when one of them stops. See access control, CCTV, security lighting, maintenance contracts and electricians in Park Street.
Questions we’re asked
Do you service electric gates?
Yes. We carry out annual services and call-outs on electric vehicle gates, including the gate we installed at Carey London's yard in Frogmore.
Can you install CCTV and lighting for a yard?
Yes. At Carey London's yard we installed CCTV, including a PTZ camera on the building, and LED floodlights on T-bar columns fed by armoured cable.
Do you work outside St Albans?
Yes. Carey London's yard is in Frogmore near Park Street, and we've also installed EV charging at their depot near Baldock. We cover Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.
Can you look after a site we didn't install?
Yes. We take over gates, CCTV, access control and lighting installed by others, and can put them on a maintenance contract.
