A dual EV charging post for a business depot near Baldock.

Two myenergi Zappi chargers on one post, with load management so the site never draws more than 80A. Surveyed, installed and commissioned in a day.

Dual myenergi Zappi charging post beside an SEG van at the depot

A construction business's depot near Baldock needed two EV charge points to satisfy a planning condition. Ducts had already been laid to the car park, so the brief was one dual charging post on the second duct run, fed from the existing site-office board, with load management so total demand never exceeds 80A.

What we found

  • Site survey on 28 Sep 2026: 3 x 100A three-phase intake in a separate intake room, with the site-office supply split off one phase via Henley blocks
  • Site office fed by 3 x 35mm supply cable to a Hager single-phase distribution board with double-stacked SPD
  • Eight ducted charger positions already in the car park, c.2m apart; c.18m to the furthest duct plus c.8m into the building

What we did

  • Installed one myenergi dual charging post carrying two multiphase myenergi Zappi chargers
  • Fed the post from two new single-phase circuits on the existing Hager board, each on a Hager 32A Type B RCBO (ADB932R)
  • Ran the supply cables through new ducting from the manhole to the post
  • Levelled and shimmed the post on its concrete base
  • Fitted a 100A fuse in the switch-fuse isolator feeding the office
  • Hard-wired both chargers to the network switch in the distribution cabinet (more reliable than Wi-Fi given the building construction)
  • Terminated CT clamps in the cabinet and set up load management; set charger 1 as master and charger 2 as slave, CT config and supply-grid limits set
  • Updated firmware, confirmed internet connection on both units
  • Tested the circuits, labelled the chargers, circuits and junction box, and fitted EV charging bay signs for both bays
  • Left the manuals with the site manager

Equipment used

  • myenergi Zappi (multiphase) x2
  • myenergi dual charging post
  • Hager ADB932R 32A Type B RCBO x2
  • CT clamps
