What we found

  • The cable feeding one run of LED strip had corroded so badly it had turned to powder, with no slack to pull through
  • A poor connection on the LED strip in the shower niche
  • Loose connections on an under-cabinet strip light
  • The front garden spike light and recessed floor light were sealed units that had failed
  • The LED profile under the kitchen units was coming away

What we did

  • Ran a new feed cable from the LED driver, using an inspection camera to check the void before drilling
  • Soldered the new joints and protected them with heat shrink
  • Remade the loose connections on the under-cabinet strip light and got the shower niche strip working
  • Replaced the failed spike light and recessed floor light
  • Replaced the lamps in the garden lights, outside wall light and hallway
  • Re-fixed the LED profile under the kitchen units

Equipment used

  • Inspection camera
  • Solder and heat shrink
  • Replacement garden spike light
  • IP65 recessed floor light
