Our work in Haringey
Since June 2024 our engineers have completed 55 jobs at 36 addresses in N6, N10, N15 and N22 postcodes. That is a real count from our job system, not a marketing figure.

- Fuse board replacements and fault-finding.
- Lighting repairs for homeowners, including garden lighting and LED strip.
Haringey’s homes
More than half of Haringey’s properties were built before 1919, and many of those big Victorian and Edwardian houses are now split into flats. Old wiring, shared supplies and missing RCD protection are things we look for on every inspection here.
| Census 2021 | Share of households |
|---|---|
| Built before 1919 (share of properties, VOA 2024) | 54.3% |
| Flats and maisonettes | 61.0% |
| Flats in converted or shared houses | 22.8% |
| Rented privately | 35.6% |
| Rented from the council or a housing association | 25.2% |
Licensing for Haringey landlords
- Selective licensing: 14 wards, from 17 November 2022 to 17 November 2027: Bounds Green, Bruce Castle, Harringay, Hermitage & Gardens, Noel Park, Northumberland Park, Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, St Ann’s, Tottenham Central, Tottenham Hale, West Green, White Hart Lane and Woodside. You upload an EICR with the application.
- Additional HMO licensing: the whole borough, from 17 June 2024 to 16 June 2029.
- Article 4: across most of the east of the borough, turning a house into an HMO needs planning permission.
Schemes change, so always check with the council before you apply.
How we work in London
Our engineers are employed by SEG and NICEIC registered. They are dispatched from SEG House in Chiswell Green, St Albans, just off the M25 and M1. We plan London jobs by area, so you get a fixed appointment and an engineer who knows the area. Every job is photographed, and you get certificates you can file.
Landlords and agents with several properties can ask about programme rates for EICRs, and see what an EICR costs. For offices, shops and schools, see commercial electrician in London. Privately rented homes in England need an EICR at least every five years, with any remedial work done within 28 days.
Questions about Haringey
Do I need an EICR for a selective licence in Haringey?
Yes. Haringey asks you to upload an EICR, an EPC and, if there is gas, a gas safety certificate with a selective licence application. Selective licensing covers 14 wards until 17 November 2027.
My house is Victorian. Does it need rewiring?
Not necessarily. An EICR tells you the condition of the wiring and what needs doing, from a few remedials to a full rewire. See rewiring.
Do you cover Muswell Hill, Highgate and Crouch End?
Yes. Most of our Haringey work so far has been in N6, N10, N15 and N22. Call with your postcode.
Can you fix garden and LED strip lighting?
Yes. See the Wood Green job above, where we re-ran a corroded LED feed cable and replaced failed garden lights in a day.
