A homeowner wanted a smart home EV charger fitted on the side of the house, using a spare way in the existing consumer unit.

What we found
- Existing consumer unit had space for an extra way
- PFC measured at 0.670 kA
What we did
- Installed a myenergi Zappi charger on the rendered side wall
- Added a new 32A 30mA RCBO for the charger into the existing consumer unit
- Ran the supply cable clipped neatly along the base of the wall and sealed the entry holes
- Fitted a CT clamp at the meter and connected the Zappi to Wi-Fi
- Set CT configuration and supply-grid limit in the charger
- Took Ze, PFC and R1+R2 readings (gas bond disconnected for Ze test and reconnected)
- Labelled the board and fitted warning stickers
- Proved the charger by charging the customer's car and left paperwork with the client; test certificates sent
