Lutron RadioRA 2: repairs, support and upgrades.
Lutron has retired RadioRA 2. We keep existing systems working, and plan upgrades to RadioRA 3 that keep the scenes and keypads you rely on.

Send us photos of your keypads and the repeater, and a rough list of rooms. We will tell you whether to repair, extend or upgrade, and what it will cost.
Where RadioRA 2 stands
RadioRA 2 was Lutron’s wireless lighting control system for more than a decade, and plenty of homes still rely on it for their keypads, dimmers and blinds. Lutron retired it in June 2023, ended maintenance updates in June 2024 and security updates in June 2025. Its replacement, RadioRA 3, launched in the UK in January 2025.
Your system will not stop working on a set date. But replacement parts are becoming harder to find, and new features will only come to RadioRA 3.
How we help RadioRA 2 owners
- Fault-finding: keypads not responding, dimmers failing or flickering, rooms dropping off the system
- Repairs and replacement parts, where compatible parts can still be sourced
- Lighting circuits checked: many “system” faults are really wiring, loading or LED compatibility problems
- Upgrade surveys: we record your rooms, scenes and devices and check with Lutron what can be reused
- Upgrades to RadioRA 3, planned so your favourite scenes and keypad layouts carry across

RadioRA 2 questions we’re asked
Is Lutron RadioRA 2 still supported?
Lutron retired RadioRA 2 in June 2023. Maintenance updates ended in June 2024 and security updates ended in June 2025. Lutron names RadioRA 3 as the upgrade path.
Will my RadioRA 2 system stop working?
No. It does not switch off on a date, and many systems will run for years. The issue is that failed parts get harder to replace and the system no longer receives updates, so it is worth planning ahead rather than waiting for a fault.
Can I add more rooms to RadioRA 2?
Sometimes, if compatible parts can still be found and the system has capacity. For anything more than a small addition, upgrading to RadioRA 3 is usually the better investment.
Can my existing keypads and dimmers be reused with RadioRA 3?
It depends on the exact models. Lutron’s UK specification treats RadioRA 2 and RadioRA 3 as separate systems, so we check your components with Lutron before quoting rather than assuming they can be carried over.
What does an upgrade involve?
A survey of your existing system, a new RadioRA 3 processor, replacement or reused controls as agreed, programming in Lutron’s software by a Lutron-trained installer, and a handover so your scenes and keypads work the way you are used to.
How much does an upgrade cost?
It depends on how many rooms, keypads and dimmers you have and how much can be reused. Send us photos and a rough room list and we will quote clearly.
