How we work in London
Our engineers are employed by SEG and NICEIC registered. They are dispatched from SEG House in Chiswell Green, St Albans, just off the M25 and M1. We plan London jobs by area, so you get a fixed appointment and an engineer who knows the area. Every job is photographed, and you get certificates you can file.
Landlords and agents with several properties can ask about programme rates for EICRs, and see what an EICR costs. For offices, shops and schools, see commercial electrician in London. Privately rented homes in England need an EICR at least every five years, with any remedial work done within 28 days.
Questions about Islington
Which Islington wards need a selective licence?
Finsbury Park, Hillrise and Tollington already do. From 23 November 2026, Barnsbury, Caledonian, Highbury, Junction, Laycock, Mildmay and Tufnell Park join them. Check your address with the council.
What EICR does Islington want with a licence application?
The council’s licensing checklist asks for an EICR dated within the last five years and marked satisfactory. If yours is older, or came back unsatisfactory, get it sorted before you apply.
Can you do the remedial work as well as the EICR?
Yes. The same team quotes and carries out the remedials, then gives you the paperwork to show the report is now satisfactory.
Do you work for charities and community buildings?
Yes. See the LED lighting upgrade we did for a charity’s centre in Archway, linked above.
