Electrician in Camden.
Employed, NICEIC-registered engineers working in Hampstead, Bloomsbury and across Camden for landlords, offices and homes.

Our work in Camden
Since October 2024 our engineers have completed 32 jobs at 24 addresses in NW3, NW6 and WC1 postcodes. That is a real count from our job system, not a marketing figure.
- EICRs on homes in NW6, as part of a housing EICR programme for a main contractor.
- Office work in Hampstead: clearing redundant services for other trades, fault-finding and testing.
- Lighting, door entry, CCTV and data for homes and businesses.
Camden’s homes
Camden is a borough of flats, and more of them are in converted houses than anywhere else in North London. That means shared and landlord supplies, older wiring in Victorian and Georgian houses, and communal areas that need their own testing.
| Census 2021 | Share of households |
|---|---|
| Flats and maisonettes | 86.6% |
| Flats in converted or shared houses | 26.2% |
| Rented privately | 35.6% |
| Rented from the council or a housing association | 33.7% |
| Owner-occupied | 29.7% |
Camden has 40 conservation areas and more than 5,600 listed buildings, over 1,000 of them in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area alone. In a listed or protected building we keep cable routes and new fittings as discreet as the building needs.
Licensing for Camden landlords
- Additional HMO licensing covers the whole borough. The current scheme, Camden’s third, started on 8 December 2025 and runs for five years. It covers homes shared by three or more people in two or more households, HMO flats in purpose-built blocks, and converted blocks under section 257.
- EICR: the council’s application checklist asks for an EICR issued within the last five years.
- Selective licensing: Camden does not run a selective scheme.
Schemes change, so always check with the council before you apply.
How we work in London
Our engineers are employed by SEG and NICEIC registered. They are dispatched from SEG House in Chiswell Green, St Albans, just off the M25 and M1. We plan London jobs by area, so you get a fixed appointment and an engineer who knows the area. Every job is photographed, and you get certificates you can file.
Landlords and agents with several properties can ask about programme rates for EICRs, and see what an EICR costs. For offices, shops and schools, see commercial electrician in London. Privately rented homes in England need an EICR at least every five years, with any remedial work done within 28 days.
Questions about Camden
Do you cover Camden from St Albans?
Yes. SEG House is just off the M25 and M1, and we have completed 32 jobs at 24 addresses in NW3, NW6 and WC1 since October 2024. We group London work by area, so your engineer is usually already nearby.
Do I need an EICR to license an HMO in Camden?
Camden runs additional HMO licensing across the whole borough, and the council’s application checklist asks for an EICR issued in the last five years. Check the council’s current rules for your property, then send us the address and we will book the inspection.
Can you work in listed buildings and conservation areas?
Yes. We plan cable routes and fittings around the building, and we will tell you before we start if any part of the work may need consent.
Do you do office and commercial work in Camden?
Yes: fault-finding, alterations, testing and maintenance for offices and shops. See commercial electrician in London.
